March 30, 2026 Families across Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas now have the chance to support their young learners through a no‑cost summer program designed to strengthen key skills for kindergarten and first grade.

Waterford.org, a national early education nonprofit, is offering a 10‑week, home‑based learning experience as part of a multi‑state education research study funded by an Education Innovation and Research (EIR) grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Participating families and child care providers will receive expert coaching, at‑home learning resources, and access to Waterford’s evidence‑based curriculum in either reading or math and science.

“Early learning lays the foundation for lifelong success,” said Dr. Matt Hill, CEO of Waterford.org. “Through this EIR-funded initiative, families gain access to proven resources that help children build essential skills during a critical period of development.”

The program is designed for ease and flexibility at home, requiring just 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week. In addition to engaging, personalized lessons, families receive one‑on‑one support from early learning specialists to help them make the most of their time together.

What families can expect:

  • Personalized learning that adapts to each child
  • A research‑based curriculum aligned to early education standards
  • Coaching and guidance from early learning experts
  • No cost to families

Enrollment is limited due to the study design. To learn more or sign up, visit waterford.org/upstart.
