Social Media Strategist

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Social Media Strategist is responsible for the planning and day to day management of all social media execution, tracking, and reporting including, but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Pinterest, along with monitoring and responding to customer service and reputation management issues. This is an entry-level position, not a management position.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with internal marketing team to develop a multimedia strategy to leverage branding and search engine optimization.
• Coordinate and create public-facing content for new product launch campaigns, events, and business initiative promotions including––but not limited to—translated press releases, blog posts, and social shareable.
• Monitoring and responding to customer service and reputation management issues on the social web using social listening tools.
• Monitoring discussions and trends as they pertain to the company, products, and brand. Identifying and reporting trends in sentiment and advising on potential opportunities for content and product creation.
• Drive workable leads for sales team through social media efforts.
• Engage and build social audiences across multiple channels.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for use in multilayered campaign strategies.
• Monitoring and measuring the success of social media strategy (i.e. increased engagement, customer acquisition, website traffic, etc.). Identifying, analyzing, and reporting on social media trends to internal team.
• Regularly monitor social media tools, trends and applications, and activity.
• Develop and refine brand awareness and brand equity and ROI.
• Be well-connected with the broader social media world and actively participate in social networking websites.
• Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities and determine benefits of applying tools to appropriate areas.
SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIRED
• 2+ years’ experience in social media strategy
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; English/Journalism/Communications/Marketing Degree preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to effectively collaborate with the marketing team and contribute to marketing strategy.
• Able to multi-task yet maintain close attention to detail and timeliness of work production.
• Able to manage multiple projects to timely and accurate completion.
• Experience developing and executing strategic marketing plan with demonstrated results.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Background in PPC & SEO
• Basic knowledge of WordPress
• Working knowledge of social media scheduling tools Hootsuite, Hubspot, Tweetdeck, Social Sprout.
