Our team has been hard at work, so today we’re so excited to announce that Waterford Math & Science is now available in the cloud — just in time for back to school! This means Waterford Math & Science’s full content is hosted online and available with the use of only a Web browser. No installation (or dreaded Java updates!) required. Other benefits of the cloud include:
– Better accessibility: You only need an Internet connection to use the cloud-based version of Waterford Math & Science, giving teachers increased access to content and ease of use in running reports.
– Lower costs: With the cloud, Waterford manages the IT infrastructure, reducing costs across all major areas of a school’s technology budget: maintenance; staffing; and hardware and software.
– Easier and more frequent product updates: Product updates in the cloud are available automatically as soon as they are released, meaning when users log on the latest version is always already there.
We’ve also made some other improvements and updates with the cloud version! Schools required to meet Common Core State Standards will be happy to know Waterford Math & Science is now 100 percent aligned to the CCSS math standards (there are no CCSS science standards). This alignment includes the sequencer that personalizes delivery of our curriculum, activities and other teacher materials. Teachers can even search and browse for math activities aligned to specific standards.
This release also made several improvements to our reporting tools, including more robust placement and progress reports. We also added a new area-of-difficulty report where teachers can see an individual student’s trouble spots, or pull group reports of students sharing similar difficulties. As always, the overall goal is to give teachers and administrators more insight and actionable data. Check out our reports product release bulletin for more info on the changes to reports! More info on the Waterford Math & Science cloud release is also available in this product release bulletin, or you can read the press release here. Let us know if you have any questions, and contact us to learn more about how you can join us in the cloud!
