We are the Romanian branch of Waterford Institute, a recognised leader in the educational software market. We are a team of more than 45 software professionals, developing, using the Agile methodology, our own products – web-based programs, helping children to learn English, Math and Science in a fun and adaptive manner.

Job Proposal

We are looking for a Senior Game Developer to join our growing engineering team and help build our next generation platform for educational services. The ideal candidate is a passionate developer that likes working with the latest technologies and enjoys keeping up to date with technology advances.

Required Skills 

  • Prior game development experience is mandatory
  • Solid understanding of the following web-related technologies: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SVG, Unit Testing, of OOP concepts and animation principles
  • Very good understanding of generating and utilising procedurally generated data
  • Very good understanding of web optimisation techniques with a focus on encoding, caching, and page optimisation
  • Required technologies: TypeScript, API/HTTP(S) Communication, NodeJS/NPM Packaging
  • Demonstrate an understanding of de-coupling and abstraction of UI functionality
  • Demonstrate an understanding of GIT or equivalent source control system
  • Experience with building data pipelines with Apache Spark or Kafka is a plus
