Local ELL Teachers to Benefit from LHRIC’s Collaboration with Hudson Valley Bilingual Education Group

March 20, 2015 — For students who come from other countries and whose first language is not English, reading and writing can be a particular challenge. For their instructors, the challenges can be equally daunting, and finding ways to enrich the learning experience for such children and at the same time helping them to become proficient in English is a priority.

The LHRIC’s Educational Technology Department/Curriculum & Technology Integration Group, under the direction of Dr. Madalyn Romano, recently partnered with the Hudson Valley Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network’s Dr. Manya Bouteneff, its executive director, to offer local instructors solutions to an issue that is becoming more apparent as the ELL population continues to grow in the region.

Participants were introduced to the Waterford Early Learning software as the sample program.
