A huge shout out to Waterford customer Lew Wallace Elementary School in Albuquerque, New Mexico and one of their teachers, Sonya Romero!
Sonya was recently featured on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show” for all she does for her students – often going above and beyond work in the classroom to care for each child, including acting as a foster parent for two of her former students.
Sonya’s story is truly incredible, but in an article in the Albuquerque Journal, she says she’s not an exception at the school: “Our whole staff rallies around families in crisis, whether it’s taking them meals or caring for a child while a parent is in the hospital.”
Way to go Sonya! And kudos to all the great teachers at Lew Wallace; we’re proud to work with all of you!
