Two of Waterford’s team members just returned from the annual Dust or Magic Institute, a gathering of about 70 designers, critics, and executives with an interest in children’s technology. It’s two great days of meeting and learning with designers, developers, and executives of companies like Toca Boca, Sago Sago, Tinybop, Tiggly, Apple, and Sesame Workshop.
Waterford’s Kimberley Sorenson, curriculum director, and Todd McMullin, creative team manager, demonstrated our free MyBackpack app and gave a preview of new reading, math, and social and emotional learning materials in development. Kimberley also gave an invited address on “Making Sense,” a presentation about the neuroscience of instruction and learning.
