Level Three helps students progress from the beginning reading
skills learned in Level Two to fluent
reading, in which the focus is on the content and meaning of text. In
30 minutes a day, students build a solid foundation for continued reading
by:
- Learning more complex word patterns and building on word patterns
learned in Level Two
- Practicing spelling and writing skills
- Understanding comprehension strategies
- Building reading fluency, or the ability to read text quickly and
expressively
